Owner / Performer
Debbie Read
Originally from Mackay, Debbie holds a Bachelor of Theatre (Musical Theatre) with Distinction, from CQ University's Conservatorium of Music (CQCM).
Debbie made her debut performance at the age of 5, singing a Christmas carol at a local theatre restaurant. From the age of 9 Debbie performed country music and during her teen years, toured on the QLD and NSW country music talent quest circuit. In 2000 she travelled to Tamworth and released a song on the LBS Country Collection Volume 3. During this time, she also performed in various musicals and theatre restaurants in Mackay, QLD.

Debbie's life then drew her in a different direction, and she became a qualified Electrician, she was in fact the first female in Australia to qualify with a dual trade - Higher Engineering (fixed plant fitting and Electrical). Debbie completed this 5 year apprenticeship in 2001 and worked in the field until 2018, including 5 years as an underground coal mine Electrician. Debbie's electrical career drew her to London for a year and also Sydney before her first child was born in 2006.

Theatre was never out of her blood however and in 2009 she was back on stage with the Mackay Musical Comedy Players as an ensemble member of Les Miserables. Debbie had 2 sons between 2011 - 2013 and following that she made the decision to move into the career that she had always been drawn to. With that in mind, in 2014 Debbie and her husband Stuart started a small business called Kooltone Entertainment, catering mainly to weddings but also offering Karaoke to local bars and clubs. A significant moment came however in 2016 when Debbie and Stuart began writing and producing theatre restaurants as part of their business. These were very successful, which prompted Debbie and Stuart to look for a way to make these shows more permanent. After much brainstorming, in 2019 Debbie and Stuart opened their first Cabaret Dinner Theatre business in Mackay, and they now own Lux Noir in Townsville.
Owner / Performer
Stuart Read
Originally from Sydney, Stuart holds an associate degree in Technical Theatre, from CQ University's Conservatorium of Music (CQCM).

As well as creating all of the lighting and sound profiles, Stuart plays the main antagonist in the Lux productions.
Originally from Sydney, Stuart started his entertainment career in the school choir, he then quickly progressed to the Australian Youth Choir performing as both an ensemble member and a vocal soloist.
From the age of 18, Stuart started hosting karaoke around Mackay and from there, started his own entertainment company offering hosted karaoke, wedding DJ and Photo Booth with his wife Debbie.
Stuart debuted in theatre as Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar and also starred as Freddie in Chess the Musical in Malaysia, where he performed for Malaysian Royalty.
Stuart loves bringing his outrageous characters to life in front of an audience every week.
Performer
Bradley Watt
Originally heralding from Mount Isa, Bradley moved to Brisbane in 2014 in order to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at Queensland University of Technology.
Over Bradley's career, he began as part of an ensemble cast in 'The Laramie Project, Ilya Afangsyevich Shamrayev in Anton Chekov's 'The Seagull' & Horatio in Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'
In 2015 Bradley did a short stint of Stand-Up Comedy at pubs & comedy clubs with 'Sit-Down Comedy Club' in Brisbane.
In 2016 Bradley played The Police Superintendent in "The Government Inspector', Gordon Gottlieb in the American absurdist play 'Dead Man's Cell Phone' & Mr Lies in 'Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches'
At the start of 2017 Bradley was signed to his agent 'Better Management Entertainment Group' & his love for contemporary theatre also found him becoming a founding member of No Interval Theatre Company to which he co-produced and performed in 'The Sublime' by Brendan Cowell at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Outside of Acting, Bradley has spent his time managing & owning restaurants and cafes all around South East Queensland before joining the cast at Lux Noir in 2024.
Aerialist / Dancer
Amanda Golingi
Amanda's lifelong passion for dance and movement has cultivated a rich and diverse expertise across various art forms, including ballet, acrobatics, and aerial arts, making her a versatile and captivating performer.
Originally from Malaysia, Amanda trained in classical ballet and recreational gymnastics throughout her childhood. After moving to Australia, she transitioned to competitive women’s trio sports acrobatics in her late teens, proudly representing Queensland at Nationals. Later, she discovered a passion for pole fitness, training for over five years while raising two children. Amanda then revisited acrobatics, forming a dance acrobatics duo and taking up aerial dance on the lyra (hoop).
Amanda has since captivated audiences as part of an acrobatic duo with her partner Tristan and as part of the lyra duo, Duo Sapphire, formed with Laura Shum in 2020. Both duos have performed at prominent events over multiple years such as NAFA, Our Townsville, and various corporate functions. Duo Sapphire was the first runner-up in both the Once Upon A Lyra and Miss Lyra competitions, and they received the "Most Creative" award at La Folie Fantasy, an international aerial competition, in 2021.
Amanda's versatility shines through her performances. She has featured in duo lyra, acrobatics, and pole dance performances in The Seven Deadly Sins 2021 show, as well as duo lyra, acrobatic duo, and acrobatic trio in The Seven Deadly Sins 2022. Currently, she is a resident aerialist and dancer at Lux Noir, adding her expressive and vibrant energy to the show.
Continuing her passion for learning, Amanda completed teacher training in aerial hammock this year, further enhancing her repertoire and expertise. Amanda also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, a Graduate Diploma in New Media Arts, and a Diploma in Leadership and Management. She works as a Senior Communications and Marketing Officer by day while raising her two beautiful daughters. Her multifaceted skills and dedication to her craft make her a standout performer in the aerial arts community.
Performer
Callysta Morris
Originally from Townsville, Callysta holds an associate degree in Theatre (Musical Theatre) from CQ University's Conservatorium of Music and will complete her bachelor's this year.

Callysta has been performing from the age of 4 and has loved every minute of it, whether she is part of the ensemble or taking her moment in the spotlight. Through her time performing she has been able to portray a few lead characters, of which she has enjoyed every second.

Beginning her stage career early, Callysta played one of Fagons crew in the NQOMT’s 2014 production of 'Oliver'. The following year in 2015 she played July, one of the older orphans from 'Annie'. Callysta also took part in all her school musicals at Kirwan High School, starting in 2014 with 'The Wedding Singer'. 2015, was 'Hairspray', 2016, was 'Wizard of Oz', 2017, was 'Bring it On', and finally finishing school in 2018, with 'Seussical the Musical'. In 2021, Callysta's second year of university, she played the role of Lucia, the beautifully insane ex-wife from 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' musical. Also, in that year she starred as one of the trio girls in 'The Little Shop of Horrors', putting all the sass and energy into her character Ronnette. In 2022, she focused on her behind the scenes skills in the university’s production of 'Xanadu'. Not only did she play the dance goddess, Terpsichore, but she also helped build props and scenery for the show. Similarly in the same year she was given the opportunity to be the choreographer for the university’s production of 'Ladies in Black'. Having no prior existing choreography to go off, Callysta had to create elegant dances for ladies in the retail world as well as organizing mannequins, all while learning her role in the show.
Callysta is striving for a full-time performance career and Lux Noir is the perfect place to chase that dream! Callysta has fit right into the Lux family and loves being her confident silly self on stage with her cast mates.
Aerialist
Laura Shum
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Laura has captivated audiences with her breathtaking performances in aerial silks, corde lisse, and lyra. With over a decade of aerial experience, Laura's performance journey began as a competitive all-star cheerleader, where she honed her dynamic skills and athleticism with the Cheer Force All-Stars and as co-captain of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues cheerleading team.
Certified to teach aerial silks, corde lisse, lyra, and dance hammock, Laura shares her passion through private lessons, inspiring the next generation of aerial artists. Her teaching method focuses on proper technique, clean lines, and sequencing. Laura's move to Townsville in 2018 marked a new chapter in her career, where she has become a fixture at community events, corporate functions, and Townsville's dinner and show, Lux Noir.
Laura's performances are characterized by a seamless blend of strength and elegance, leaving audiences mesmerized with her aerial artistry. Whether she's gliding through the air on silks or showcasing her agility on lyra, Laura consistently pushes the limits and sets new standards in aerial performance in North Queensland.
Sound Technician / Performer
Nathan Van Stralen
Nathan has worked with Deb and Stu for more than 9 years as a theatre tech, karaoke host and wedding DJ, having completed a Cert III in Multimedia. Nathan started in Townsville with Lux Noir as the theatre technician for their opening show Underworld.
After many years of professional sound and lighting, Nathan has made his first big jump onto the stage where he has very quickly become a crowd favourite. Nathan has embraced his new on-stage role with everything he has and loves every minute spent at Lux with his theatre family.
